New phase in my life

Tomorrow, I am about to start a new phase in my life. I will be going to work at a consulting company which I have admired from the time I have moved to Canada.

The company I worked for previously, Provincial Sign Systems was also a great opportunity and an experience I will not forget. I worked with a great team of individuals, within my department and in others, all of them quite knowledgeable, helpful and unique.

This is not my normal type of post, but I wanted to take the time to acknowledge those that I worked with for the past number of months, and to thank Provincial Sign for the opportunity to learn more about the sign industry.

AutoCad Shortcut keys

I has been a while since I have published anything on this blog. Life has been quite busy!

Today, I will be writing about the AutoCAD function keys after receiving a couple of e-mails about it from a friend on this very subject.

For reference, the following is a list of special virtual keys that you can use in order to increase your productivity in AutoCAD:

F1 - Help
F2 - Text Window
F3 - OSNAP
F4 - Tablet
F5 - Isoplane
F6 - Coordinates
F7 - GRID
F8 - ORTHO
F9 - SNAP
F10 - POLAR

About me

I'm Fernando Salgado From Whitby, Ontario, Canada I work at a consulting company as a Structural technologist, where I use AutoCAD daily. I have used AutoCAD, off and on for about 10 years, starting with the R14 version up until the current version. I like learning new tricks, sharing my knowledge and involving myself in the "CAD" community. I've also ventured into the web design field, with my own company Chimera for a number of years. On a personal note, I was born in Mozambique, lived in Portugal from the age of three, where I studied land surveying and engineering. In 2000, I moved to Canada, where I pursued web design and it wasn't until 2004 that I went into drafting again. I'm mostly self-taught AutoCAD and make it a hobby to collect as many books on the subject as possible.
